If REAR-PROJECTION is required in bright daylight, more light from the screen is required, because the human eye adjust for the brightness by reducing the size of the pupil.
Under such conditions more light (ANSI-lumen) is required per screen-area (m²). This implify a more costly projector OR a different screen than the overall POP-contrast screen.
To compensate for very bright surroundings, DAF Screens is manufacturing this special bright screen:
-
To achieve highest possible transmission. The absense of tint increase the degree of light-transmssion, but reduce the contrast in the image
-
Reduce contrast in the screen is less of a problem with many new projectors having a high contrast-ratio
-
The quantity of "diffusion-particles" has been reduced. This "narrows" the viewing-angles, but concentrate more light to the spectators within the viewing-cone
-
The high brightness compete better against high ambient light-level, compared to ANY screen with peakgain 3
-
The screen exist only with 2 mat surfaces and only in thickness 3mm
